# A game is stuck: describe the specific situation

An unclear rule and a technical error need different help. Start by describing what actually happens.

[Back to overview](https://splashit.impulse-apps.de/en/support/)

Name the game and exact step. Check supported numbers and rules before reporting an issue.

## When the group cannot start

Compare active players with the range on the game page. Werewolf starts at seven, Mafia at five, and Chooser supports at most five. Check that the names reflect the current group.

## When a rule is unclear

Open the individual instructions and review aim, order and ending together. Not every game distributes hidden roles. An expectation from Imposter may not fit a conversation game’s sequence.

## When a screen does not continue

Record what is displayed and the last action you took. Capture exact error text if shown. If you reopen the app, do not assume every running round will resume at the same point.

## Make a reproducible report

Send game name, sequence, player count, iPhone model, iOS version and app version. Describe whether it happens again in a new round. A screenshot may help; remove private notifications and unrelated information.

## Identify the exact affected step

Distinguish preparation, private role viewing, the active task and the result. Note the game name, active player count and last understandable step. “After I read my role, handover stops” is more useful than “The game does not work.” First check whether the current view expects an input or whether a rule remains unclear. If the group falls outside the published limits, adjust it appropriately. If the sequence still behaves unexpectedly, these details provide a focused starting point for a support request rather than a general report about the entire catalogue.

## Interrupt a private round deliberately

In secret-role games, a screenshot can expose information still private to the group. Describe the sequence without the word or role first. If a screen capture would help support, create it after a suitable interruption and avoid sharing it with fellow players without reviewing its contents. Before restarting, ensure that everyone has the same information state. Reopening a device does not retrospectively remove an advantage from already revealed information. The aim is to explain the affected view while preserving a fair starting point for the next round.

## Choose one change for the next attempt

For a technical issue, start with the affected game and the same valid group size. Check available app updates and read its current rules again. Avoid changing names, game style and every setting at once if you want to identify the affected step. For support, provide app version, iPhone model, iOS version and a short sequence. Credentials or complete personal conversation answers are unnecessary for explaining a controls problem. A clear written account is useful even when you do not have a perfect recording of the incident.

## Your quick check

- Game and player count included.
- Affected screen described.
- Last action and error text recorded.
- Device and app versions added.

## A useful report

“In [game] with [number] people, after [action], [observation] happens.” Add what you expected and whether a new round behaves the same way.

## Common questions about this topic

**Should I reinstall immediately?**

Start with a specific description and a check of the sequence. Reinstallation may change local settings and is not a general first step.

**Can we play above the maximum anyway?**

This website recommends the catalogue’s supported ranges. Choose a suitable game for a different group size.
